This Wednesday morning at 10:00 am a Press Conference will be held at Levis Square directly north of the Toledo Edison building in downtown Toledo. The focus of the briefing will be on the Davis-Besse reactor building crack and citizens response and initiatives to this unfolding debacle.

Intervenors will review the status of the Davis-Besse crack and the track record of First Energy. Engineering, legal and financial perspectives will be provided.

Citizens will initiate and introduce a Resolution which speaks to the need for: independent inspection; protection of public health and safety; alternative energy. This Resolution will be sent to all Toledo City Council members by a broad coalition requesting support. This coalition includes the Toledo Safe Energy Coalition; Ohio Green Party; Beyond Nuclear; Citizens Environment Alliance; Coalition Against Nukes; Don’t Waste Michigan.

The splitting of the atom has changed everything except the way we think. Thus we drift toward unparalleled catastrophe. We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking if mankind is to survive.”… “To the Village Square… we must carry the facts of atomic energy, from there must come America’s voice.” -Albert Einstein, June 1946
